The complete Frozen – Magic of the Northern Lights Disney coin collection is now available following the release of the fifth and final coin in the series by the New Zealand Mint.
The final coin in the series features the re-united sisters, Anna and Elsa, and is a fitting image to end this silver coin series on. The previous four coins in the series have featured both Elsa and Anna individually on their own coins. With the other two coins depicting Kristoff and his reindeer friend Sven and the summer obsessed friendly snowman Olaf.
2016 Frozen - Anna and Elsa Silver Coin Reverse
Set in the magical kingdom of Arendelle, Disney’s blockbuster animated film Frozen tells the story of the graceful Snow Queen Elsa, and her fearless sister Anna. The two experience an epic adventure in the mountains together with mountaineer Kristoff and his reindeer Sven. Encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls, and a hilarious snowman named Olaf, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements as they journey forth to return Elsa to the kingdom of Arendelle.
The reverse design features the two sisters standing side-by-side against the backdrop of the northern lights that have appeared on the rest of the coins in the series as well. An ornate border separates the coloured portion of the coin from the rest of the design that features the Disney Frozen logo, along with the words : “1 oz 999 Fine Silver © Disney”.
2016 Frozen - Silver Coin Obverse
The obverse is shared with the rest of the series and is the standard right facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II with the words : “ELIZABETH II”, “NIUE”, “TWO DOLLARS” and “2016” appearing along the rim.
The coin is struck from 1oz of pure(999 Fineness) silver and measures 40mm(1.5478 Inch) in diameter. A total mintage of 10 000 coins have been struck and will be issued in the New Zealand Mint's distinctive book-style presentation case. Here the box has been printed to resemble a story book, with the inside containing a brief description of the coin along with the numbered certificate of authenticity.

The coin is available at a price of US$80.00 each directly from the New Zealand Mint.
The popularity of this series should come as no surprise as the movie ranks as the highest grossing animated film of all time. So, with this in mind, as the Frozen – Magic of the Northern Lights series comes to a close the New Zealand Mint has already indicated that they will be releasing more Disney Frozen themed coins in the near future.
