NGC Slabs 35th Million Coin

According to a press release, dated 10 June 2016, the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation(NGC) have now graded over 35 million coins to date and counting, making them the first third party grading service to do so.

NGC will celebrate it's 30th anniversary in 2017, having been founded in 1987. The company became the official grader recommended by the American numismatics Association by 1995 and by 2004 the Professional Numismatists Guild had done likewise.

NGC Chairman Mark Salzberg had the following comments about the company's milestone achievement :

"It is a great honor to have been trusted to certify more coins than any other grading service ... We are extremely grateful and humbled by the trust that collectors and dealers place in NGC’s services. We look forward to continuing to provide the best services with the highest integrity all around the world."

Remarkably the 35 000 000 coin mark was reached a mere two years after the company announced that they had officially graded 30 million coins. This fact is credited to the continued international expansion that the NGC has experienced in recent years. In addition to it's North American presence the NGC have opened offices in Munich, Germany, Hong Kong and Shanghai, China. It also has Official Submission Centers in China, Singapore, Korea, Japan and Taiwan.

NGC have to date graded 1 500 000 Chinese coins, 400 000 South African coins, 400 000 Australian coins and nearly 325 000 Canadian coins. Other divisions such as NGC Ancients have also noted impressive growth.coins
