The New Zealand Mint today released two new coins as a part it's ongoing Disney princess collection. The featured princess this time around on the two collector's pieces is Mulan.
The first coin is a 1oz silver(.999 Fine) proof $2 with a coloured finish. The obverse of the coin features the Disney Princess Mulan surrounded by cherry blossoms, while the reverse has the right facing bust of Queen Elizabeth II. The 40 mm coin is minted with a milled edge and released in an attractive booklet detailing Mulan's backstory.
The second coin is ¼ oz gold(.9999 Fine) proof $25 to the same design of the silver coin. The 22mm gold coin is released in a very attractive wooden display box.
Mintages for these numismatic coins wil be limited to 10 000 for the silver $2 piece and 1000 for the gold $25 coin. The 2016 coins are minted by the New Zealand Mint of behalf of the island nation of Niue.
This will mark the 9th release in the Disney Prin
cess Collection for the New Zealand Mint. The collection was first released in 2015 and has to date featured some of the most beloved Princesses from Disney's past. These include : Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Tiana, Rapunzel, Merida and now Mulan.
At the time of release the adverised retail price for the 1oz silver coin was US$80.00 and the ¼ oz gold coin was US$600.00
