The Vatican City State's Philatelic and Numismatic office have released their annual Euro coin sets for 2017.
In total there are three distinct coin sets available all of which contain at least the same eight Euro coins found in circulation. With the two final sets each including an additional commemorative coin.
Vatican 2017 Uncirculated Coin Set
The first set is the Vatican 2017 Brilliant Uncirculated Euro coin set. This eight coin set contains a full set of circulating Euro coins in denominations of 1 cent, 2 cent, 5 cent, 10 cent, 20 cent, 50 cent, €1 and €2 all minted to a brilliant uncirculated finish. This set has a total mintage of 70 000 and is available from €37.00.
Vatican 2017 Proof Silver Coin Set
The next release in line is the Vatican 2017 proof set. This holds the same coins as with the uncirculated set in addition to a special commemorative silver €20 coin. The silver coin measures 36mm and is struck from 26gram(0.917oz) of sterling(.925 Fineness) silver. The silver proof Euro coin set of Pope Francis in the Year MMXVII has a limited mintage of 8500 and is selling from €160.00 per set.
The silver coin depicts a design that shows the three archangels Gabriel, Raphael and Michael protecting and watching over the infant Christ child.
Vatican 2017 Proof Gold Coin Set
Finally there is the Pope Francis - Year MMXVII Euro proof coin set, this time accompanied by a special gold €50 coin. The proof coin set is completed by a 1/2oz 22ct(.917 Fineness) gold coin, measuring 28mm(1.1 inch). The gold coin depicts details from the 18th century painting Mary Untier of Knots, which is located in the church of St. Peter am Perlach in Augsburg, Germany.
This painting is well known to be one of Pope Francis' favourite works of art, who first saw it when on pilgrimage as a young man.

The gold coin set is available from €1090.00 each and has a limited mintage of 1500 sets.
In addition to these three coin sets the Vatican Philatelic and Numismatic office is also releasing the 8th annual coin card. This item contains a single Vatican State Euro 50 cent coin on a blister card depicting the seal of the Vatican and the image of Pope Francis.
The Pope Francis 2017 coin card is being sold from €3 and carries a mintage of 60 000 cards.
