Additional Information
Launched in March 1980, the VC Commodore was declared by Wheels magazine to be ‘easily the best Australian car ever’. The VC ensured Holden kept its place as Australia’s top car producer. The Blue XT5 engine gave the VC up to 25 per cent more power and 15 per cent more fuel economy than the previous VB. Driving a VC, Peter Brock won the Bathurst 1000 in 1980. Brock’s record nine wins at Bathurst between 1972 and 1987 were in either Commodores or Toranas.
